Our Progressive Platform
Our Progressive Platform is governed by the principle that we all do better when we all do better.
When we have a fairer tax code, we all benefit from the investments we can make in the public good.
When we all have good-paying jobs and quality health care, we all benefit from a stronger economy.
When we have high-quality public schools and affordable housing in every community, every community can flourish.
When we have a legal system that protects everyone, we’re all safer.
When we accelerate our transition to a green economy, we all benefit from cleaner air and a healthier planet.
And when we have a democracy in which everyone can participate, we all benefit from the better policies that result.
Massachusetts, let's be a leader on progressive policy!
When we build an equitable, just, democratic, and sustainable commonwealth, we not only improve the quality of life here at home but also set the bar for other states and the country as a whole.
Let’s get to work!

Our Shared Prosperity Agenda
Massachusetts is one of the most affluent states in the country, but we are also one of the most unequal. Let’s make sure that everyone can share in our common wealth by guaranteeing high-quality public education, universal health care, affordable housing, and good-paying jobs, and by ensuring that the wealthy and large corporations pay their fair share.
- HIGH-QUALITY, FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION, Pre-K through post-secondary
- HIGH-QUALITY, UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, which provides treatment to all as a right
- AFFORDABLE, DECENT HOUSING, in safe and vibrant neighborhoods
- JOBS THAT PAY A LIVING WAGE, and provide reasonable hours and robust benefits
- AN EQUITABLE TAX SYSTEM, which raises sufficient revenue to invest in our future
Our All Means All Agenda
for Racial and Social Justice
When we structure our laws and legal systems for equity and inclusion, rather than control and exclusion, we’re all safer.
We must deliver on the promise of liberty and justice for all and dismantle legacies of structural racism. That means advancing an approach to public safety that prioritizes public health and strong communities and a criminal legal system focused on rehabilitation rather than retribution; strengthening civil rights so that women, communities of color, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community can fully participate in public life; and celebrating the diversity that is the source of our strength.- A COMMUNITY-CENTERED APPROACH TO PUBLIC SAFETY, which treats everyone, especially those from marginalized communities, with dignity and respect and addresses root causes
- A FAIR AND REHABILITATIVE JUSTICE SYSTEM, which ensures that justice is applied equally and with an objective of lifelong rehabilitation
- A SENSIBLE AND HUMAN-FOCUSED IMMIGRATION SYSTEM, wherein everyone, regardless of citizenship status, is protected under the law and treated with dignity and respect
- A DIVERSE AND WELCOMING SOCIETY, for all, including historically marginalized communities and persons
Our Sustainable Infrastructure
& Environment Agenda
Massachusetts can lead the way by advancing a Green New Deal in the Commonwealth by reducing pollution and greenhouse gases, creating hundreds of thousands of clean energy jobs, promoting climate-smart development, investing in our public transit infrastructure, and protecting our natural environment.
- A CLEAN ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE that reduces pollution and greenhouse gases, and protects our natural environment
- A COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM that is reliable, well-maintained, and free for all
- A HEALTHY NATURAL AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT that provides ample open space, reduces pollution, improves our communities, and nurtures residents of the Commonwealth
Our Good Government,
Strong Democracy Agenda
Massachusetts has played a major role in the history of democracy in our country, and our policies should reflect and build upon that legacy. We should be a national leader in voting rights and in cultivating a strong civic culture and infrastructure, and we should empower everyday people to make change by reducing the outsize influence of money in campaigns and policymaking. At a time when democracy is under attack, we must build trust in our democratic systems by reducing the over-centralization of power and increasing more transparency and accountability to the residents of the Commonwealth.
- A TRANSPARENT, ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNMENT that fulfills its responsibility to represent the interests of the Commonwealth and our residents and removes barriers to participation
- AN ELECTORAL SYSTEM that strengthens voting rights, expands the electorate, and builds trust in candidates and electeds
- A CAMPAIGN FINANCE SYSTEM that reduces the influence of money and returns elections to issues and the electorate
Take Action!
We’re ready to fight for these priorities in the current legislative session.
