Build a script:

1. Introduce yourself and identify yourself as a constituent.

2. Urge your legislator to support pro-transparency rules changes:

“...I am happy to hear that both the House and Senate plan to take up legislative reforms in the upcoming rules. I urge you to support changes to boost public access to information and participation, such as:

• Publishing committee votes
• Publishing testimony submitted to committees
• Longer notice for hearings and an expedited hearing timeline
• Public committee working sessions and Conference Committee meetings
• More time for legislators to read bills and amendments

        Say why you value an open and transparent legislative process.

3. Urge your legislator to reject Healey’s proposed shelter restrictions.

“...I also urge you to reject the harmful restrictions on emergency shelter proposed by Governor Healey….”

Say why upholding the right to shelter is important and why we shouldn’t be putting mothers with infants out on the streets.
